Samsung today announced that the Galaxy S II has achieved 10 million global channel sales, doubling from five million in just eight weeks. This news comes after the company’s U.S. launch with Sprint’s Samsung Epic Touch 4G and the AT&T version, which like T-Mobile have opted not to attach its own branding (not yet, at least). Nonetheless, all Galaxy II handsets are pretty amazing choices just in time for the holidays.
Discussing the company’s recent success, K Shin, president and head of Samsung’s mobile communications business in a release said:
“In just five months the GALAXY S II has seen tremendous growth, reflecting its tremendous popularity with customers around the world, who in selecting the GALAXY S II as their device of choice have driven the device’s strong market position globally.”
